About the event

Arielle's next conversation was with LaSheena Williams. LaSheena Williams Jenkins is a playwright, director and producer. Producing original contemporary work that speaks to the issues of violence against women and children, mental health and those impacted by special needs, LaSheena has created spaces in churches, girls' detention centers and theaters to offer resources and a sense of community. Jenkins is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity program, works with the Center for the Church and the Black Experience at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, is an Associate Artistic Director and teaches improv to elementary students in Illinois.

Arielle is an award-winning documentary producer/director. She received a BFA from NYU’s Experimental Theatre Wing and studied directing and taught at Second City Theatre Chicago. She founded Legacy Connections Films in 2005 where she has directed and produced over 100 personal documentaries for clients. Arielle was included in The Independent Magazine's "10 to Watch in 2018" list.
